About the role
The Commercial Analyst - Data is responsible for the accuracy, governance, and lifecycle management of all product and service codes within the ERP system, ensuring data integrity, pricing consistency, and operational efficiency across the business.
The role supports Commercial Operations and Product Management by ensuring that all SKUs, codes, and pricing structures are correctly set up, maintained, and aligned to approved commercial strategies.
Key duties and responsibilities are:
Code Governance and Maintenance
- Maintain and administer the end-to-end product and service code framework within the ERP system.
- Ensure accurate setup, categorisation, and ongoing maintenance of all product and service codes.
- Safeguard data integrity across commercial systems through regular audits and validation checks.
- Execute established governance processes for code creation, amendment, and obsolescence.
- Act as the central point of control for SKU and product code accuracy.
Lifecycle and Portfolio Management
- Implement approved new product and service introductions within the ERP system.
- Manage code discontinuations and obsolescence in line with business direction.
- Ensure correct system configuration to support website, sales, and operational requirements.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate product data updates.
Pricing and Margin Control
- Ensure pricing is accurately reflected across all product and service codes.
- Implement approved pricing changes and promotional adjustments within agreed timelines.
- Monitor for inconsistencies in pricing or coding that may result in margin leakage.
- Escalate identified issues to Commercial Operations or Product Management as appropriate.
Continuous improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy within ERP and commercial systems.
- Support automation initiatives related to product data management.
- Contribute to process improvements that enhance governance, reporting accuracy, and operational control.
- Maintain documentation of data standards and governance procedures.
Education, Skills & Experience
- Strong experience managing product or master data within an ERP system.
- High attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Solid understanding of pricing structures and commercial operations.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Commercial, Product, Finance, and IT teams.
- Process-driven with the ability to enforce governance standards.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving capability.
