Marketing Operations Manager

About the role

Our Marketing Operations Manager plays a central role in keeping the marketing and creative functions running smoothly. Reporting into the Head of Marketing, you will own core processes across both functions, streamline how work progresses from brief to delivery, and ensure our people, systems and workflows operate at peak productivity.

You will also take full responsibility for our marketing automation platforms and be a key influencer in our broader CRM system, safeguarding data hygiene, driving platform development, and ensuring our marketing database is accurate, compliant and effective for targeting and reporting. Close collaboration with our internal systems (IS) team and Sales Operations Manager will be essential in creating consistent, reliable workflow and data structures across the entire lead and opportunity lifecycle.

Key duties and responsibilities are:

Process ownership and productivity. You will design, maintain and optimise processes across marketing and creative workflows, ensuring clarity, speed and quality from planning through to execution. Working closely with the Creative Services Manager, you will refine handoffs, embed best practice, reduce friction, and champion tools that improve day to day efficiency. Your aim is to create scalable, repeatable systems that lift overall productivity.

CRM and marketing automation management. You will take ownership of automation platforms, overseeing database hygiene, governance, segmentation, reporting frameworks and lead management rules. You will collaborate with the IS team on configuration, development requests and system improvement projects, ensuring both stability and progression. 

Lead and opportunity workflow alignment. You will help shape and maintain seamless end to end workflow between marketing and sales, including lead capture, enrichment, scoring, assignment, progression and conversion tracking. You will troubleshoot issues, identify gaps, and work jointly with sales operations and IS to ensure both teams have clean, consistent data and clear processes that support timely follow up and accurate pipeline reporting.

Internal enablement. You will support coordinators and managers across marketing and creative teams with systems training, workflow adoption, database usage and automation best practice. You will help embed a culture of operational discipline and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder engagement. You will proactively gather feedback from across the business to understand evolving needs and identify operational enhancements. You will act as a bridge between marketing, sales operations and IS, translating requirements and ensuring solutions work both technically and operationally.

Reporting and engagement. You will take ownership of reporting marketing engagement and lead data to the wider business. This includes maintaining clear visibility of performance, ensuring consistent data quality, and delivering timely, accurate updates. 

Hands on support. While your main focus is on leading processes and systems, you will be ready to step in when required, supporting tasks such as campaign deployment, data checks.

• Ownership and optimisation of marketing and creative workflows
• Hygiene, governance and development of CRM and marketing automation platforms
• Joint ownership of lead and opportunity workflow with the Sales Operations Manager
• Alignment of data, processes and logic across marketing and sales
• Collaboration with the internal systems team on platform changes, integrations and technical improvements
• Training and enablement across both teams for systems, data use and workflow adoption
• Oversight and documentation of operational tools and processes
• Monitoring and tracking of relevant operational and platform budgets
• Supporting high quality delivery across marketing and creative operations

Education, Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in marketing operations, CRM management or marketing automation
  • Strong understanding of marketing workflows, operational systems and data hygiene best practice
  • Hands on experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Customer Insights, Salesforce, Pardot or equivalent platforms
  • Experience working closely with technical or IS teams on configuration, improvements or integrations
  • Experience collaborating with sales operations to support lead and opportunity workflow
  • Experience supporting or coaching team members, with formal line management experience welcomed but not essential
  • Familiarity with digital marketing activity, reporting and campaign execution is desirable but not essential
